Assignment 6 - perspective

Image
For this assignment I chose 1 point perspective, I made up a cartoonish looking city from my mind and cut out each building separately so they would be in perspective than glued them on. for my textile, I chose to use scraps of fabric I had to make a clothing line, I have 4 photos that I found from magazines onto my drawing. Im not super happy with the photos I have, as my options were limited and I think they look out of place but I liked the challenge of creating a 1 point perspective in collage format.

assignment 7 - ink wash, Zhang Daqian

Image
Zhang Daqian or Chang Dai-chien born 1899, died 1983 was a Chinese influenced ink wash landscape artist, he lived during the period of impressionism and you can see that through his works. Impressionism is one of my favourite art periods and I thought the way he let the ink flow to replicate water and how his pieces looked purposeful but accidental was really beautiful.

I had to redo a couple of them and I'm not super satisfied with them all. I think I'm better at the bugs than I am at people.
